BALI- LOVE AT SECOND SIGHT

Here we fell in love 10 months ago. Nevertheless, we did not see much of the island at the time. After spending two nights in a hotel near the airport, because we had to wait for my missing backpack, we went straight to the Gilli Islands and did not want to stay in Bali anymore. What we saw then was the region around the airport. Kuta, absolutely touristy and far from what one imagines under Bali. We did not really like it at that time and had actually checked off Bali – until ten days ago we landed more or less by accident here again.

After we had to fight with bad weather, no matter where we were in Indonesia, our choice fell spontaneously on Bali, since there was only sun reported. About booking.com we booked our hotel, which looked nice and had good reviews.

Arrived the next day we explored Canggu, the place where we checked in, but had not heard about it before and were immediately in love. The whole Vibe there is incredibly great. One hipper shop next to the other, fancy bars and restaurants and everywhere people with their surfboards. We quickly realized that Canggu is “the place to be”. The food is delicious and very healthy, you have incredible choices.

Bali itself has enchanted us. Not for nothing is the island called “the island of the gods” or “the island with the thousand temples”. You can feel the magic on the island, the Balinese place great value on there traditions and customs. Bali is 95% Hindu, and wherever you look you can see temples. It is simply wonderful to explore the island on the scooter while watching the Balinese perform their rituals in their traditional robes.

Through the tourism, Bali is very advanced and you get everything that your heart desires. After some time in Vietnam you can appreciate that very much.

We decided to spend a longer time here as we feel very comfortable and the island is perfect for us.
